Role Overview
The job requires an ambitious, independent individual who is committed to continuous learning, is curious and interested in furthering AWiB’s cause and must be willing to network extensively with organizations supporting this cause. The ideal candidate is abreast of contemporary issues regarding leadership, current trends both at the country and global levels.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate monthly networking sessions, weekly Round table Discussion forums, training and workshops. Prepare and send out recap of these sessions on a timely basis.
- Prepare annual and quarterly plans, present progress/status reports on plans
- Ensure timely updates are made to AWiB’s website and social media
- Ensure bi- monthly newsletter is sent out as per schedule
- Maintain database of members
- Respond to all queries regarding events and activities via telephone, email and social media
- Supervise interns and provide guidance, report on their activities
- Provide input in membership recruitment and retention, both at an individual and corporate membership levels.
- Attend Executive Board meetings, take minutes , perform duties assigned by the board
- Follow up all 3rd party service providers and ensure terms of contracts are adhered to
- Represent the Executive Director as necessary
- Ensure petty cash is maintained and managed on a weekly and monthly basis
- Mobilize partners to work for AWiB’s sustainability
- Mobilize funds through other creative mechanisms
- Maintain individual membership at 500; corporate membership at 600
- Represent AWiB at high level conferences; women forums and diplomatic events
- Perform other related duties as per the directions provided by the executive director
Education And Experience
A minimum of first degree in social sciences or business fields with at least three years of experience in a related field such marketing and PR.
MA from reputable university is a plus
Knowledge And Skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Critical thinking and a keen sense of urgency a MUST
- Independent thinker
- Knowledge of how to sustain an association
- Capacity to create new initiatives that would elevate women’s cause
- Self-starter who can initiate new programs and see through completion
- Detail oriented and a keen sense of follow through
- Excellent communication skills especially writing and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Excellent research skills
- Excellent command of English; French is a plus
- Strong social media marketing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft office suit
